Library
Every year during school vacations, we open up our Spanish Library and encourage the children to complete a challenge of reading 20 books on their own at home. We provide story time three times a week and require the students to give us a summary of each book to prove they read it. Then, every student who completes the challenge receives a reward!
This year we had 24 students complete the challenge and they were invited to our ministry site for a “Library Fair” The Library Fair included…
- a bookmark making station
- bead crafts! Bracelets and keychains
- trampoline
- fair games like ring toss/ bouncy ball basketball with prizes
- sidewalk chalk
- kid friendly lunch and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert
Everyone received an invite to church and a Gospel tract.
We would love to open the Library every Saturday morning during the school year, if we had the funding to pay for a “librarian” to run it.
Please consider donating Spanish books so that we can grow our library! We currently are running a Book Drive. https://paperpie.com/brandpartner/P14174/bookshelf/81110
