Coffee

This is a new venture! Colomba is known as the “Land of Coffee” and yet, there are very few fincas who can afford to export their coffee. We are creating a new brand of coffee in order to support a few families local to Colomba. The coffee growers live in a region of Colomba that is at higher altitude, 1500 feet, producing a more hearty coffee bean. The beans are grown organically, without any pesticides. We will purchase beans from them, but then hire another family from our scholarship program to roast and process the beans. The end result will be a single origin, medium roast coffee, with options in whole bean or ground. All the coffee beans will be harvested in the months of October and November and roasted in November. We will bring all the coffee with us when we visit California in December, where it will be available for a minimum donation of $20/bag. This will cover the costs of production, packaging, shipping ($65 per suitcase that we will pack out with coffee bags!) and provide us with a little extra income to cover our traveling expenses. Our hope is to ship our coffee to California every December, where it will be available in our supporting churches to help support the ministry of Jesus Loves Colomba.
