Please help support Jehovana's NUTRITION
SENIOR project
In January, 2026, our scholarship student Jehovana will begin her 5th and final year as a Nutrition Major at Rafael Landivar University in Quetzaltenango. She will be required to complete a Senior project, and has chosen to focus on the prenatal nutrition of women in Colomba as her project.
This is what we would like to accomplish:
- Provide 100 pregnant women with nutritional counseling and childbirth classes throughout their 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy
- Provide a weekly box of high protein and high quality foods, so that the pregnant mothers can actually put into practice the nutrition advice we are giving them. The box would include a carton of 30 eggs, 2lbs of ground beef, 1 whole chicken, pint of peanut butter, 1 liter of natural yogurt, ½ cup of Himalayan Pink Salt.
- Demonstrate that proper nutrition lowers the chances of birth complications, specifically Pre-eclampsia.
